About us

Dear Diary.....
October'18
We've just had a lovely couple of weeks off after a fantastic start to the year and a crazy busy Wedding Season! We were extremely happy to be assessed and retain our Level 5 hygiene cert, it's always good to know we're still doing things right! We continue to provide Afternoon teas for Couples and their guests ahead of their wedding at Hillmount House and course lunches for Victoriana Flower School. The run up to Xmas is booking up nicely, a few celebration cakes this month , the the Halloween cupcake marathon like last year, private parties, The Twilight Market in Larne on 7th and 2 weddings booked in December will carry us into the new year when we'll be releasing some Wedding Cake tasting sessions for spring/summer 2019!

Jan'18
Another Winter flew past in a whirlwind of weddings, teas, lunches and of course Christmas festivities!  2017 Brought more challenges and took us out of our comfort zone, we tackled everything from the large-scale numbers of the Brilliantly successful Yarnfest, rewriting our afternoon teas to accommodate allergies and continued to cater for new Venue Hillmount House and the ever popular Victorians Floral Flower school.
Dates are already  starting to book up for this year and next so if you have an event on the cards get in touch to reserve your date!

 Dec'16
What a fantastic Year!  2016 has proved to be a world class culinary experience throughout Northern Ireland with Large and small producers, Rosette restaurants and corner cafes all striving to show off their finest products and cookery.... great to see what our wee country can achieve and be proud of!
We've enjoyed so many Pop-up Emporium Markets,  especially the Launch and twilight markets in our local Larne Market Yard, good to see new faces and regular supporters alike.
The private catering continues to grow, we were honoured to provide event food for so many lovely people as well as intimate Afternoon teas and nerve-wracking wedding Cakes!
One new venture this year has been working with Victoriana Flower school, an absolute joy to cater for, with a standout weekend at Redhall Estate for the Festive Florals courses. Keep an eye out on our Facebook and their website for more tutorials in the new year.

All that's left to say is a big thank you to everyone who supported us through 2016! We're going to take a small break in Jan to try out some new menus (and sleep) then we're good to go for another year! Wishing you all a very happy winter break and a happy New year! Maggie x
"We're a 'From Home' business formed in July 2015 and we've gone from strength to strength. Self-taught with a passion for really great local food paired with a love of French Patisserie, Spanish flavour and Italian breads we aim to bring big taste in little creations. We are fortunate to be situated in a beautiful rural area on Larne Lough, close to the Victorian yet entrepreneurial town of Whitehead where the local community and businesses continue to suport and promote what we do."

We value tradition and heritage, using many recipes and techniques passed down through the generations. We feel strongly about the importance of supporting local farmers and food producers while taking often overlooked ingredients to make them shine.

On the practical side we're proud to hold the highest hygiene rating of 5, retained after our Sept'18 assessment and work from a bright sunny kitchen, one view to the hills of Magheramorne and the other over the lough to Islandmagee, half way between Larne and Carrickfergus.

A daydream of working from home, being there for the school run and bed times while building a creative business became an all-in reality and we haven't looked back.

I hope you enjoy what we do,
Maggie.
